Notarial Certificate Information

 ACKNOWLEDGMENTS and JURATS

Acknowledgments and Jurats are the two most common notarial certificates.

  • Acknowledgment: This is used to verify the identity of a signer and confirm that they are the person who signed the document.

  • Jurat- This is used when the signer is swearing to the validity of the content of a document and requires a notary to administer an oath, or affirmation, to the signer.

Please Note: A notary is legally prohibited from telling a signer what certificate they should get. When you contact me please let me know what you need. I am looking forward to serving you.

Notary Legal Disclaimer

I am not an attorney and therefore, by law, cannot explain or interpret the contents of any document for you, instruct you on how to complete a document or direct you on the advisability of signing a particular document. By doing so, I would be engaging in the ‘unauthorized practice of law’ and could face legal penalties that include the possibility of losing my commission, and even fines and jail time.
